How to sharpen lawnmower blades:

  • Before starting any work, make sure that the mower is off and unplugged.
  • Remove the blade from your lawn mower.
  • Clean the mower blade to remove any rust or clipping buildup.
  • Attach the blade sharpener to your drill.
  • There are two stones on the attachment. It is important not to wedge the blade between the two stones. The blade should just rest on the area where the stones meet. This will ensure that the correct angle is achieved. (See picture in product catalogue)
  • With the sharpening tool spinning in an anti-clockwise direction when facing you and your drill running at high RPM, drag the sharpening tool back and forth across the blade until an evenly sharp edge is achieved. (This same process should be used when sharpening garden tools)
  • After sharpening a lawn mower blade, it is important that the blade is balanced.

Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery.

  • To make sure the blade is balanced, hang the blade on a hook or nail in the wall through the hole in the center of the blade.
  • Sharpen the blade a bit more on the side that is hanging lower than the other and repeat the process above to ensure that it is indeed balanced. (See picture in product catalogue)
  • Once the blade is balanced, re-attach the lawn mower blade to the lawn mower and you are all set.
